Last week friday got pulled over.
No I wasn't speeding, I didnt run a red light, and I didn't commit any other serious traffic violation..... I get hit for no recon. After stating my case and many attempts of trying to get let off with a warning, I got a $70 ticket
. You may be wondering as to where this all occurred, and your probably thinking that I decided to go for a joy ride in Waikiki and got pulled over by some rookie cop.............. Wrong
I got pulled over in KUNIA.
out of all places kunia just before walmart. Who would have ever thought, I sure as hell didn't. When pulling me over he said he was ticketing me for my car being to low. The follwing day I spoke with a family friend who's nephew is a cop in pearl city, and he informed me with the obvious, you can't get hit with recon if your car is modded with parts made by the manufacturer( such as nismo), and as far as the drop, your liscense plate has to be at a certain height from the ground up. My question is does anybody know the exact height that the liscense plate needs to be at? Does anybody know where I can obtain that information from?
Thanks in advance for your help.

license plate needs to be 12" from the bottom of the license plate.
Also, the middle of your headlights can be no lower than 22" from the ground.
As for suspension, you'll need alignment papers that are no more than 30 days old. And make sure that your suspension can rebound 1" down and 1" up.
Call for appointments.
As far as getting away with the ticket, if you can get recon done before the due date of the ticket, you can write to the court that you fixed the problem and show proof with the recon papers. They'll probably drop the ticket this is your first offense
Last time I went with my subie, I failed due to the bounce test.

Just remember that officers name that gave you the ticket, and anytime you get pulled over again, just say, "my friend is officer ......" I've used that before when i was a punk driver in college, and it actually worked a few times. Just throwing out a name could save you from a ticket.

this works most of the time, but if the officer decides to investigate and finds out that the officer you stated doesnt know you, that is a jailable offence.
i got a recon ticket before for my rims. i work with HPD and sheriffs dept., and they all told me that have to be a moving violation in place in order to get a recon. i went to the police station, and done, they dismiss the tickets!
