Rhd?
I'm just curious as to what people's opinions are on Right Hand Drive Z's?
Ever since I got a Z I always thought it would be the **** to import. The whole image of something truly rare/unique appeals to me, but would there be any drawbacks to this? I have heard of Last gen Skylines being imported but have never seen any vehicle of any type that's right hand...
Really though, just curious as to what other ppl think.

I've been researching importing a skyline for several years now. Some where in those pages there is even a listing of certified "Upgrade" specialists shops that will take a car on this list and make it spec legal to drive.
EDIT:
To answer the OP the easiest thing to do would be to get the full front clip of a wrecked Z imported from Japan. Or if you have the contacts have the company pull the full dash and brackets to swap the PS and AC compressor. Realy a RH conversion is simpler for the Z once you move all the wiring. Its all in bundles and the new dash will have the correct mounting points. Look to see where your Z was made there may be a chance there are spots available for mounting things and passing your steering colum through the fire wall.

Actually alot of skylines previously "legalized" were brought back in. At first the DOT was assuming motorex was actually performing all the requirements to legalize. This was not always the case. So they were going back and finding some of the cars were released without all the proper modifications. The R33 from Atomics went to maui or something and the R34 was auctioned off and sent to cali. There are however a **** load of skylines on the island though. Most are through the military claimed as a 240 or maxima.
Yep that was because motor-x used the crash data from the R33 and put it to the 32 and 34. Out of that ruling is where the R33 was made legalized to import but needed specific modifications. There was also an inspection that was added.
But yeah i heard of alot of the R33's were impounded from motorX because they realy only were modified on paper. There is a guy in Omaha that has a legalized R33. I think he had it converted by a place in AZ.
