Sunday, May 24th, 2009 Start of Summer Cruise
As usual, our Z brethren are invited. Our next G Cruise is set up for Sunday, May 24th. Hope you guys can make it out. We had more than a handful of G/Z cruises last year and had some great turnouts from the Z community. Original thread at Driver here: http://g35driver.com/forums/hawaii/2...er-cruise.html
Meet up will be at Maunalua Bay in Hawaii Kai at 10. Roll out at 11. Be there or GTFO. IIRC going have a couple cruises that day so Kakaako might be kind of packed which is why we're meeting up in Hawaii Kai.
From Maunalua Bay, we jump on the H-1 West to the Pali. For something new I'm thinking we take the Old Pali Road. Guarantee we going get at least a little bit split up when we merge back onto Pali Hwy but I figure after Old Pali, we pull on the side, group up and try to keep it together as best we can (merging is tough at the end of Old Pali) and from there everyone drives on down to our next meet up spot at the H-3 lookout town bound (our normal spot) for some famous "bruddahmanmatt shots". So no one gets confused, take the left from Pali Hwy onto Kam Hwy (the 1st traffic light after the Pali tunnel) and take the H-3 on ramp toward MCBH. Follow the freeway to the end and take the last exit (you'll see the guard shack) and flip a B jumping back onto the H-3 so that you end up at the townbound lookout. If you facing the base you at the wrong lookout and you FIAL at life.
From here we take the H-3 to Kam Hwy and pass Windward Mall and take the road through Heeia all the way to Kahekili on our way to the shrimp shack.
Only thing with taking the Heeia Pier route to Kahekili is that the convoy will probably get split up a bit as the merge onto Kahekili can be a quick one sometimes. The reason for taking this route is because Likelike to Kahekili = snoozefest. This path is more interesting if not a bit residential. I'm shooting for a mix of "fun" roads as much as I'm trying to consider what's best as far as keeping us together. As such, depending on how many cars show up, I may assign cars to other drivers so that we can at least roll out in small groups instead of one by one. I know we've gotten cut in half before as there were simply too many cars. This way if we do get separated, we can at least stay together in smaller groups. As usual I'll be out in front with the first group of cars. I was hoping Will and Hinano would be willing to help out with holding everyone together as you guys seem to be good with directions. Sorry Neil, but us Hawaiians don't know what Highway 78 is.
Last stop before shrimp will be at Kualoa Parking Lot to regroup. If you can't find the parking lot you should just kill yourself now as you are utterly hopeless.
Regarding the shrimp shack, this is the shrimp shack by the gas station (Kahuku Shrimp Shack), NOT the white truck. If no more one gas station, you at the wrong shack and gotta go down further.
Of course we pound shrimp at the Shack and from there it's a toss up. I know by then some folks will have to leave so you're welcome to dig if you must. For those who want to have just a bit more fun, I say we drive towards Waialua and take Kaukonahua towards Schofield. Much more fun than just chugging up through boring ole Kam Hwy through Wahiawa. After we pass Schofield we take Kam Hwy through Mililani. Last meet up spot is at Pearl City Home Depot. From there, pau hana, go home, cook rice.
So, fun up Old Pali for all, cruise to H3 for pics, Kualoa to regroup and Shrimp for grinds. After that, Waialua and Kam Hwy through Mililani for the drivers and Pearl City Home Depot for the final meet before pau. If you guys need printed directions, you need help. Google Earth is your friend. Learn that s**t beforehand if you think you'll be confused. You have a month. I'm not a personal GPS. We had some ridonkulous cruises in '08, but nothing major yet for '09. Let's start the summer off with a bang. Happy shrimp shacking. Cheeeeeee.

We actually got a handful of po-pos over on the G boards since a few of them drive G Sedans but they no bother. In fact, a few came out to cruise a couple times. Forumshawaii cruises are the ones you gotta watch out for. 5-0 know that those guys are prone to do something stupid so they raid the cruises. G and Z guys are pretty mellow though so they no really bother. Plus I don't post our stuff up on FH anyway.

Sorry Matt, I really wish I could make it to this one, I know I said that last time too but I'm going to be out of town this time, next one I promise!

On the south side (the water or makai side as we call it) there is a beach park. I would think that's where they are meeting up.
Timeline permitting, my Z should be out by the end of next week... I will be there if it is. NismoFreak, you can follow me Big Dawg, I will confirm with you as soon as I can get with Mike.
Joe... You are gonna have to cancel your trip Bro. Sorry. You gotta make this one man...
