No Recon tickets are $90 bucks and aren't fix it tickets unless your car is deemed unsafe for the road. Theres lots of people that just say screw it i'll pay the ticket and not deal with recon. Course driving like a dumbass will mean you'll be getting those $90 tickets pretty often but if you drive safe and don't do dumb things most cops will leave you alone (as long as you don't go to waikiki) You will definitely get a recon ticket if you ever get pulled over for anything else though. Now tint tickets, that's where it gets expensive. Tint must be 35% or greater and cannot be on the front window. A tint ticket is $287 x the number of windows that are illegal. So minimum would probably be almost $900 bucks if you just have the rear hatch and the two side windows too dark. You have a 6% leeway when they meter your windows so as long as it meters at 29% or above you're safe.

I've personally never been pulled over in Waikiki (but I don't think i've driven through there in the Z in over a year) but I think ryan and maybe some other members (joe? not sure i remember who chimed in last time this came up) got pulled over like the second they drove into Waikiki.

My co-worker gets pulled over all the time (he lives in Waikiki).........he drives a POS, so the tickets are for stuff like seat belts, safety check, etc.

OP - howdy.

Frankly, the scenery and the weather are MUCH nicer than where I'm from, so even without going off base yet, I can definitely say I like it here...

Just waiting for the Z to get here, then I'll start venturing out, into the world...

Yeah, the DFAC is right across the parking lot... I stay in Mathies Hall. I thought I've seen your Z sitting out there a few times... on the way to chow...

did your Z come in yet? If it did, are you rolling in a stock magnetic black Z on base?

Nope, not here yet... VPC said it arrives in port this weekend, and I'll get it sometime next week... Here's a pic right before turning in at VPC, in Charleston... http://i125.photobucket.com/albums/p...hotos00055.jpg
