so i know alot of the people in or on here are military or ex-military, the wonderful wife and i are going to PCS to HOOD and just wanted to know what people had to say about it and there feelings, if they have ever been there. thanks again. oh yeah were leaving in march... justin

 

Ft Hood is the shizznit!! I love it there....... Im supposed to go back in Oct, but I may re routed... Well see.....

HA!!!! you dont wanna come here.... lol.... this is the worst place i've ever been to being in the army.... thats why im pcs'n to hawaii next... going home for me.... but yeah you might like it.... well fort hood is a cool place but units here suck......

 

Hood is a Big post. I think the second largest of Army Military bases...correct me if I'm wrong. Anyways, the Post has everthing you need, Killeen is an Import Friendly little city outside of Hood. What I mean by Import friendly, you can get parts etc. Units do suck, I'm sure 100% you'll be deploying again a Hood. The best thing about the area is I35 and back country roads out in Temple, Austin to run the Z and test out the suspension.

Also, the Race track in Temple is open on Fridays. I think there was another track they were building in Killeen too. On Fridays, Us Z guys would ride out after work on Friday night, cruise to the Track...and get fok'd up out there. Also, the track in temple is a family thing and all day and nighter, food, beer, drinks..etc. So bro...there is a track! Again, the best thing is I35 Dallas 2-3hrs oneway, Austin, San Antonio, Houston the otherway, and no TRAFFIC!!!!!!!!!!!! OUtlets, malls,....dam I guess I do miss it. Good luck man. At least you know if and when you go FI there are plenty of tuners to take care of your whip. Lastly, cost of living is so low...you can get 4 houses at hood for the price of one in Hawaii...believe that.

ummmmmmm yeahhhhhhhh right............. theres a cop in just about every other corner out there now days...... you can barely street race around the area now.... cops out here have modded chargers now just so they can keep up or catch the boosted guys or the "fast" guys who run from then and leave them behind.... lol

 

Wow guess things in that area has changed. Hey we used to drive to Waco on the weekend and legally street race on the main Blvd until midnight. Cops just stood and watched as spectators until midnight then they would ticket you. People, car clubs, lined up on both sides of main street to watch and race. Is that still going on? Yea I didn't believe it either until I actually drove to Waco to see if it was true, then wind up racing my Z buddies from stoplight to stoplight on downtown main street with cops visible but not bothering you. This was not just race or modded cars but any car who felt like gettin it on, suvs, hummers, family station wagons, etc. It was crazy. Man! I miss that.

 

I loved Temple raceway.. The bikes were sick on the track too!!

 

yeah cops are bad out here now man... i dont know about waco though... havent been up there in a while... plus i havent been at hood in 7 months since i been deployed

sounds like a plan, how many units are on deployment right now, and when do they plan on deploying again. im still in iraq at the moment so i dont wannna end up over here again real soon

 

you have a 50/50 percent chance of deploying coming to hood.... if you end up in the cv then you good.... cant tell you how many units are deployed over these forums or online at that man.... you know better opsec... lol
