Default Digital Camera

Ok so my birthday is coming up and my mom wanted to know what she could get me, so I decided I would like a digital camera because my last one broke and I am tired of boring others. Question is what type of camera should I get, what do I have her look for, or is their anything special to look for? I really don't know what to try and find. I'm not trying to be a professional photographer or anything just want something nice with good quality. Any help is welcomed also if you have a pic of the camera you use can you post it?

Thanks

for beginner, i would recommend Nikon 50D or 70D (less than $100) If you're one spoil kid then ask your mom for Nikon 200D or Canon 30D.

Def not spoiled that's for sure. She just wants to get me something nice, you know how moms are.

Canon Rebtel XT is a great camera for $800.00, that's if you are up to that $ amount.

If you don't want a DSLR, the Canon S3 IS or A620 are good point and shoot cameras. If you get a DSLR, you'll end up spending several grand on glass and accessories just to get started (good gear, not the inexpensive low-end stuff).

If your a beginner dont get any fancy SLR just a good automated camera unless you know proper white balancing, iris and shutter settings for shooting. Seen to many people with nice cameras with photos that would look better on a disposable.
