Default RAW vs JPEG

I'm fairly new to photography, which is better to shoot in, RAW or JPEG. I know that RAW format uses way more space on your flash card, but is the total quality better?

i recommend you join a photography forum like fredmiranda or photography-on-the.net

raw makes it much easier to adjust the picture on the computer in case you messed up any settings/wb/exposure.

Depends on what your finished product is going to be, if you just want to post it on the web somewhere jpg is fine, if you want to manipulate the image in Photoshop then RAW will have way more info to work from, in CS 2 you can work in RAW. So if you want to make a great print RAW would be the way to go.

Raw is too big of a file to work with. You won't be able to detect the difference between the 2. jpg compression is the best.

I mostly use jpg. I tried raw, but if the image doesn't require too much post-processing, jpg is fine.
