Ive made simple mounts for head rests already. Also in my Supra I just jammed my tripod between the back seats and strapped it in with the seat belts and it held great surprisingly.

In the Z, a perfect spot would prob be on the rear strut tower bar. It would be a high level to get alot in the cameras scope and easy mount. But it will kill whatever little rear vision you have.

Over $100 for a camera mount? Why not this for $35?

I've played with that before. It'll support pretty large weight in a static setting, so it could definitely handle a lighter camera under some lateral g-forces. You could attach it to the rear hatch glass and have it aimed between the seats...

Inexpensive but it doesn't look like it has any rubber for reducing vibrations and shake.
