Look what I got at Sears
Woot! They price matched it...$400.51 (tax included). The only downside was that I was waiting behind this Chinese woman trying to talk to a Sony rep about her camera. Waited about 40 minutes...worth it though. Now I need a CF card...
Ahaha...okay this is what I did. I followed Jae's directions and printed out the Office Depot price which is $399.99. Then I took the sheet and went to Pasadena Sears (Rosemead & Colorado Blvd.) and showed it to them. I guess they were kind of busy so the guy just browsed the sheet and said I need my manager's approval. He called the manager over and they were talking about some non-work related things. The manager just swiped his little approval card and voila! $399 - 10% + tax = $400.51.
Yea it comes with the lens, battery, software, charger but no CF disk. Which I'm going to look for...right now.
Edit: Just checked officedepot.com and still says $399

6% tax isn't too bad. Cobb tax ftw! (even though it used to be 5%)

I don't think people are reading the instructions. They're on page 2, go look for them.
I think Costco has a 2GB Ultra II CF card for $20. Not sure about that, but that's what I heard.
I got lucky and got a 2GB Ultra II CF for $16 at Staples.

So I was curious about the camera and researched it a little bit. This price is great but I found places that sell it for $490. Given that the camera is about 2 years old I would say that's about right. Can't wait to use it though. An 8mp DSLR camera for $400? Can't beat that w/ a baseball bat. Thanks to the OP!

XT with kit lens goes for $550 online from a reputable dealer. Most of the lower priced camera stores are scammers.
