Not quite sure what your question is.
Is the SLR digital or film? and when you say nice color like a digital do you mean a point and shoot digital camera?
If it is a Digital SLR and you are not using the correct white balance setting for the light you are shooting in color can be affected. Your camera's instruction book will tell you how to set that accurately for each shooting situation.

^ like the above says.
i think i know what you mean though. i have a rebel xti and when i use my friends nikon d40x i find his has much more vibrant colors.
lighting and messing with the settings can changes this drastically though....
list what camera and what settings you take the pictures on...

its a 20 year old minolta x-700 SLR camera. (not digital).
its a popular professional camera for SLR cameras. and i just opened it not too long ago haha.
im of course using film, and i was just wondering how i can get better color like DSLR camera's. some of the pics i take are dull of color.
and all the pics i listed above are taken with a x-700. even the flower. and i was wondering what i can do to get my pics like that

I'm pretty sure he's saying he has a film SLR, especially by looking at the grainy-ness in his pictures.
Before I got my D40, I used my dad's old Pentax KM film SLR. It was a good learning process, but the pictures (in most cases) didn't turn out too good, they were usually really yellow. I just used Photoshop to edit the color balance and levels. My film SLR pictures also usually lacked vibrancy.

or step into the digital age and buy a digi, you will save $$$$ and not have to worry about processing film. Then adjust hue and saturation in Photoshop.
Or just get Photoshop and play with your current images using hue saturation... if you Photoshop Kung fu gets better play with lab color.
