Have you read any of the strobist blog? Lots of great lighting tips (or at least I think they should be great. I'm strobe-less so can't actually put any of the tips into practice )

I'm on the fence about getting strobes, Its more gear to carry, more variables to worry about it, and honestly I don't even like using my flash, I've always used available light, I suppose it would open up new doors, but for now I'm more tempted to go FI than buy strobes

Yeah I've read a few things on the strobist blog, its pretty good

I'm a freelance photographer too, and i kneeeew you had at least a 70-300, or 75-300 range. The 50mm is seriously like one of my fav. lenses ever made (al though as cheap as they are, i still don't have one yet, i used to work @ WOLF camera and play with em' all the time). I want a 40D, but just read one of the threads on here about a new 50D coming out that's supposed to be wayyy better. And i use a Rebel XT/ 430EX speedlite, and other cool lenses). Nice work bro! - chris

My only gripe about the 50 is I'm so used to being able to zoom to frame my shots, but thats just me being lazy. Although the construction could stand to be a little better quality.

I'm sticking to the 40D for now, the only thing I'll switch to would be the 5DmkII but I'd still keep the 40D for the faster FPS.

Yeh, the 40D does have incredible FPS. It's extremely fast! My rebel just sucks when it comes to that, and thats why i need an upgrade. just can't afford it now.Moving out my folks house finally, and tryin to buy a 350z as well!

The pp is a little different for every shoot I do and I have some custom made presets, I didn't use a sephia filter but I did increase the warmth a little bit.
