Default First time posting pics

Took a trip to San Francisco this weekend to visit my cousins...took some pics along the way of the SF bay bridge and my cousins great danes. Comments on how i can improve would be greatly appreciated...

These were all taken with a Canon XSI on the kit lens...

On number 2 and 3 you should crop out the blue tint and the dashboard, it's distracting. #5 does not have enough depth of field or you missed the focus on the eyes. I see you chose f1.8 and that's a real thin depth of field so you have to get the focus dead on.

Most of your portraits of your dog they are smack in the middle, which is not wrong all the time, but try to vary it. Have you learned to use the other focus points? That way you can compose them on other sides of the frame.

Keep shooting, practice makes perfect. I'm still learning on my composition, I'm not very artistic.

4. you cut the very top of his ear off. if you had a little more room at the top and towards his rear, you could also crop that picture to bring the formatting better.

6. you could crop the last one a lot and that will offset the dog from the center. crop left side by 2 or 3 inches and top by like an inch or so maybe.
