These suckers are hard to capture. They fly so sporadically. And it's tough to get them to open their wings!

Butterflies are tough. They are easiest first thing in the morning while they are drying any dew off of their wings.

Woodland Park Zoo in Seattle has a butterfly exhibit with a huge number of species, they are definitely easiest to get shots of when they are just perched.
