DIY: fish eye lense!
i didn't know where to post this, media share sounded like the right place to make it
hey guys
well since i can't afford a dslr i did a quick search for any fish eye lense attachment for a point and shoot camera. which then i came accross a youtube link on a $5 homedepot fish eye lense! lol
so i went to homedepot and got the supplies
Door peep hole $9.99 (there is a $5 one but it looked small)
electrical tape $ .69 cents
rubber hose (youtube used pvc piping) $2.99
my digital camera: olympus stylus 710 7.1mp
total: $14
youtube video
<object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/_dmEY2izZpk&hl=en_US&fs=1&"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/_dmEY2izZpk&hl=en_US&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>

i brought my digital camera to homedepot to make sure the rubber hose fit snug around the pertruding lense.
so if you follow the youtube video the guy is using some type of foam to fill in the gap between the hose & peep hole

now the peep hole is thick enough to fit snugly into the hose.

i used extra electrical tape towards the front so that there isn't play
i had to zoom a bit to get the right angle and look of the fish eye. the next 3 pictures were taken with my blackberry to show how it would look mounted on my camera

it looks funny but it works great for $14!!!!
now the test pictures!

i love this cheap a$s lense!!!! you can also use this same method on your cellphone camera. i will be making one for my blackberry also and will be posting pictures up soon
