used a nikon d40 first time doing hdr and first time really learning to use the camera

+1 on hurting my eyes.. Rule of thumb is if it hurts your eyes, then it will hurt others and another is if it hurts others eyes but not yours then there's a problem. Keep trying. I actually prefer to do faux HDR in PS that way I can control how much of the effect has on the overall image.

the d40 is really hard to keep steady because it doesnt have the aed mode kinda shitty. So i have to change the exposures manually each time while trying to keep the cam steady. I wish i could get the hdr thing down my pictures from before didnt come out too bad heres some here

Invest in a tripod... one of the best investments I have and have made my shoots 300% better.

Just picked one up today actually lol. It's hard never done photography before and I've only ever used digital cameras. I'll get better at it just practice

This is what I was talking about when I said faux HDR in PS. It's not for everyone but I like the end result.

i have a bracketed shooting mode on my canon... not sure if it's available on the d40. you would also benefit from a remote shutter.
