I think I know what you mean now; I didn't use any brushes, I made tapered shapes in Illustrator. I did a self-portrait using the same technique and will attach that shortly to give you a better idea (it's on my other computer).

if I ever have to work in a corporate environment again just shoot me dead now I worked at an agency for about 2 years, developed a company's marketing department for another 2, and solely do freelance work now. But thank you for the compliment, it's very appreciated.

eric try these too; they are slightly smaller, but also have a slight spacing so they aren't right up against your border. See if you like it better!

those look great.
What i meant is, you made it look like a real pen. with a thin to thick effect on the pen strokes.

Thanks, I thought there was photoshop trick to give the same effect.
