JT et al engine builders - I "thought" that engine break in, especially considering break in via dyno, was best done over varied power levels and that the slow and easy less than 3k rpm wasn't exactly ideal. This subject has been asked and addressed, but nobody has actually confirmed what engine break in procedures for road and dyno they preferred. Everybody's hinted, but I have yet to see a "here's what I do" post about this. Is this some sort of holy grail secret in engine building? I honestly didn't think so...
EDIT - before anyone starts with the trash talk: YES, I searched and NO there isn't any info on BUILT engine break in by any of the engine builders on this forum.

I agree. There's no definitive answer to this. Everyone you talk to will give you different advice. That's why I say - do whatever you'd like, just don't be stupid about it.
I kept it under 3k rpms most of the time for the first few days. Today and yesterday I've been driving it normal, meaning normal acceleration without getting it in boost, and cruising around in higher rpms. The car has almost 700 miles on it now. It should have well over 800-900 miles on it by the time it gets back to the shop.

come on, dont act lke i dont know what i am doing, if he hits 3psi the car will immediately hit 9 to 1 AFR. at part throttle , the car is at a perfect 14.7 to 1.
this is where 95 % of driving is anyways so there will be no issues. i really just wanted to get some miles on the car.
the engine is being broke in just fine, i have NO worries about the turnout of it

I think ST's are going to start getting some great exposure in the high powered arena, and mine will be one of the more tame ones!
Oh, and on another note. I just got challenged to a race by a bunch of drunk college dudes in a mini van taxi tonight. They beat me. I need to get this thing tuned!

Hi Craig... Been a while since I've seen you, but I've been following your new engine tales...

Thanks folks.
I just dropped the car off at Performance Factory around lunch time today. They'll be tightening some things up and hopefully tuning it asap.
I also finally dropped off my Blitz wing to get painted at the shop across from the shop. New wheels and DR's coming soon also (hopefully in time for the drag day on the 30th).
