FORGED PERFORMANCE FTMFW!!!!!
Hello all,
This is going to be long but worth the read.
I have been a long time lurker on these forums but don’t post that often, I just want to start off by saying everyone on this site has been very helpful to me during my build. I have had my 350z in 04 and right away the mod bug bit me. My journey began with an APS single turbo kit on the stock block, it made decent power (380whp) but got boring fast lol. I then bought a built short block from someone on this forum along with a greddy TT kit, UTEC, CJM Fuel return, 650cc, AAM 3” exhaust, Wastegate dumps, and finally a meth inj. Kit. I was so excited to get everything installed and I went to a local guy near me named Sean Ivey (IveyTune) he mainly works on evo’s but told me he has worked on the VQ platform before and has full confidence in taking on my project. He finished the project and tuned the car. I sat in it for the first time with the new setup and said to myself “this cant be right” my BASE fuel pressure was at 90psi you couldn’t sit in this car without REAKING of gasoline, the car puffed out black smoke every time I touched the gas the ride was HORRIBLE cutting in and out bucking out of control the entire time. Make a long story short the motor blew up on me (melted a piston to the cylinder wall). Bought a Brand new motor and the moron that I am let him put it in again, this time he told me he would make sure everything was ok and work on the price with me. A week later I pick up the car and it’s the SAME ****! I finally said F this and made an appt. with in my opinion the best and by far the most knowledgeable VQ builders around, Forged Performance. I put my car on a trailer and drove 15 hours to Sharif’s shop. I was only supposed to come down for a tune because I thought Sean Ivey did the install right this time. Little did I know Sean SCREWED me once again. I asked Sharif to look over the entire car to make sure that everything was in good working condition before he started the tune. There were OVER 28 things wrongly installed on my car. Sharif was baffled to say the least at what was done to my car (fuel lines where wrapped around turbo exhaust housing just ready to blow, everything was just half assed on the car.) He asked me to stay a couple days so they can work on it, obviously I had no problem doing so. In JUST 3 days the guys at Forged Performance fixed EVERYTHING on the car. Everytime they encountered a problem Sharif would call me and let me know exactly what was going on, when I came to the shop the mechanics explained everything in great detail to me so I would understand. It was such a good experience to find a shop that is not just there to make a quick buck and actually take pride in their work and interact with the customer. After all was done we hit the dyno and made 510whp on his heartbreaker dyno. The car runs sooooooooo smooth without and hesitation, just like a stock car. Sharif and the guys at Forged made me love my car again and I thank them for taking the time and pain in the *** I probably was while I was there lol. (thanks man!) All in all, if theres anything to learn from this long *** story its don’t take your car somewhere just cuz it might be a little cheaper or whatnot. Do it right the first time and you will have no regrets. If I could do this all over again I would have sent my car to Forged Performance the day I got it and not let anyone else touch it (my .2cents). Finally, thank you again to Sharif and the mechanics that slaved away on my car for 3 days I appreciate your work/help very much it was the best experience I could have asked for!
lol sorry for the spelling was running late

Very encouraging and glad to hear.... The first thing i learned was to not let anyone without VQ knowledge touch the car. Which is hard since the car has only been out 5 years.. Not like RX's and Vtec yo motors... Congrats.. pix when ya can..
OP Went to a janky mechanic to install used built motor and tt kit
janky mechanic blew the motor
OP let janky mechanic install new built motor
OP thought to himself something was still wrong
drove 15 hours to Forged
Forged found 28 things wrong with the car
Forged fixes car in 3 days
OP is now happy

I know exactly what you mean. Been there done that and feel exactly the same way. Forged FTW!
Sharif told me your car took the cake and is now the first place holder in the rehab department, with my car coming in a distant second. Congrats and enjoy!

Ivey Tune has a good reputation around here as a tuner from what I have seen and heard.
I would be interested/angry if this was even slightly accurate. people I know were considering trying out Ivey for tunes and other things (mostly not in the Z market though).

Ivey normally works on evo's but had full confidence in doing my project on the VQ platform. To say the least he f*ked me out of alot of money and i dont advise anyone to give him business from the way i was treated.
