Forged Performance: Jay's car is Greddy'ed and Strong!
If you truly are spinning in 5th, something is seriously wrong with your setup. Are you running really high camber? I am making a little more power on the same dyno and hook up at the top of 3rd + on not so great for boost tires.

I prob need a camber kit..

Well get one and lets see how you feel about the car with it hooking up
Anywho congrats on the car and nice choice on the kit!
Jay,
I don't jump in till page 15 anymore these days.
Great numbers and nice setup.
I have the Kumho ECSTA MX's (275-40-18) which are very similar to the SPT's......
They are absolute junk at holding 500rwhp. They handle well but cannot hold ANY real power.
Ask the chi-towners that have been out with my car..........traction is, um, well, an issue even into triple digits some nights....

I think I will bring it to Nissan sometime this wk... To inspect my suspension..
you looked into the camber adjusting bolts???
They don't offer as much adjustability as camber plates (think they'll give you +/- 1 degree), but thats all you're really looking for....
And I know a certain 9sec Z that had good luck with them.
don't need all the crazy -camber for the street.....for road course days yes.
just a thought

Thanks for the info Tom!!
Im not sure what the true problem is.. The last time I had the car aligned the wheels werent too much out of OEM spec.. Just a tad.. Thing is if I get camber kit = 540 + labor = 2-3hrs = Almost 700-800 total..

Jason, you need to go with a wider tire (295 or 305), a bit below spec on negative camber (or within spec) and a bit more aggressive on the toe in to hook with your power level. You also need a stickier tire. PS2s, BFG KDWs, or the like will work out fine for you. I don't think you need a camber kit if you are just a bit outside of spec...you just need better / wider tires.
Also, tip into the boost in lower gears...don't let the TQ hit like a hammer...if you do, you're bound to break them loose and it's spin city.
Jay - I did SPC rear arms for like $125-150. If you are dropped at all the rears can get out of whack real easy, even at only a 1" drop. You can just get longer bolts to replace the stock ones to get the adjustment you need as well, cheaper yet.
I will be running Yokohama Advan Sports in the rears with a max size of 285/35-R19 so I don't rub or have to roll fenders, they seems to be a nice mix of sticky, but quiet and quality - $295 ea from TireRack.
Did you lock up the brakes at all? Is it possible you have flat spotted the tires you have on now?

i recently had a flat with my pilot sports.. and i was like.. fck that.. i can buy two Kumho's cheaper than the cost of 1 pilot sport..

I wanna keep my same tires though.. I love the pricing and longevity of them..

i had -2.2 and -2.1 in the rear (way out of spec) running 295/30r19 Michellin Pilot Sport PS2s and spun like a banshee through 4th...even in warmer weather. 3rd never hooked.

275 up front would be a bit much and steer like ***... i would go no wider than 265, but would probably stay 245/255... i think on a 20" 255/30 will be a bit larger rolling diameter than OEM.

**** your 4 day!!
