I AM CONFUSED NOW-G35 Sports Coupe-LISTEN TO THIS !!!!!
Guys (& Gals)....Well I have a chrome silver Z on order ..HOWEVER..I had the chance to see a brilliant silver G35 sports coupe today. I COULD NOT BELIEVE MY EYES...this car is awesome..The brushed aluminum 18 " alloys are stunning with the brilliant silver. The interior is VERY refined with brushed aluminum accents. It also is very sporty as well as luxurious. Has a nice purr of the engine...I without a doubt love the Z, but after seeing the G35 sports coupe I am confused...what do u guys think?
i had the same delimma, but i finally took my Z. couple reasons, Z has more hp, looks more sporty( thats very subjective), i'm looking for a sportscar, not a lux sports coup, and Z turns more heads than the G, and i accutally wanted a 2 seater instead of 4.
lastly the Z out handles the G.
oh one more thing, i believe Z has the carbon fiber drive shaft, but i'm don'think the G has it. if thats the case Z will lose less power at the wheels.
it really comes down to personal preferences.

Its all a matter of opinion and everyone is entitled to theirs. I personally love the Z for everything that is is and everything that it isn't. I've owned nothing but GT cars and never a real sports car. I'm really looking forward to having a REAL 2-seat sports car. I don't need a back seat as I have no family and I really hate carting people around. I'm over 25, so I don't care about the insurance benefits as much either. I love the big tower brace in the back of the car because it provides much better chassis stiffness. In short, I love the Z for the performance of a sports car. If you want the same thing, make your choice based on that. If you want the GT compromise, then go with that.

My fiance is getting the G35 coupe, IMHO it is a better looking car, the fact it has a back seat and no huge crossbrace taking up the trunk is just icing on the cake.

The G35 is fine, but the ***-end looks weak. That is my only real problem with the styling.
I wanted the navigation system over most other features. The nav in the Z is flaming awesome. In the G35, it doesn't fit well, IMO. The dash looks a little over-done.
I think you will love the G35, though. It is an amazing car.

True, I think the mechanicals of the cars are so similar though the limits of the cars will be equal, the aftermarket will likely even the cars potential. I should also state the fact that I will soon be married, and the backseat will be a necessity in the future. Hence why she wants it more. It was difficult enough to convince her that 4 doors weren't needed.
If I were choosing, I would get the Z just because its more my style, even if I give the styling edge to the G35, I think the rear on both the cars is the worst feature.
Thanks for the input..I'm pretty sure I'm sticking with my Z that I have on order (Touring/ Chrome silver/ 6 speed m/t / frost interior / navigation system / kickplates / mats /...no splash guards or aero package...don't like them......I JUST WISH I COULD HAVE BOTH ....but wouldn't have the time to drive both b/c I would be working all the time to pay for them !....I'm going with the Z..its my first love and should be here middle of december..

Ok side by side, the G35 coupe looks better. The rear end is better, it has round LED taillights! The front is way better and the door handles are awesome.
The visibilty is the main problem with the Z, seeing out of the back is terrible. The G35 Coupe has much better visibilty!
Handling wise, the G35 coupes with the performance wheel package have michelin pilot sports, a superior tire to the bridgestone that is on the Z. The rims also look better on the G35 Coupe. The G35 coupe can go through the cones at 67+ MPH and pull .92 to 1G on the skidpad! Top speed is 155MPH and it has a drag cd of .28 to .29
Sure the Z is lighter and is probably tighter with the front tower strut bar and the huge rear strut bar, but the G35 coupe does have a rear strut bar, it is integrated into the rear deck lid and is smaller.

The last review I read of the G35 coupe (in Motor Trend I think), the G35 coupe was actually about 2 mph faster in the cones.

I've seen both side by side in person. The 350Z is way better looking than the G35 coupe. The G35 rear is a blocky mess and the sides are boring. The front is nice, but that's about it. I don't know how anyone can say a G35 looks nicer than the Z. Anyway, the G35 is a coup and the 350Z is a sports car. Two different animals. If you think the G35 looks better, then perhaps you're a coup person not a sports car person. That's fine. Just decide who you are.

The rear end of the 350Z is pretty weak, those triangular LED taillights are a weak design along with the chrome door handles.
The G35 coupe is a sports car! Just because it has a rear seat does not mean its not a sports car. The 911 has a rear seat!
But it is each their own. The G35 coupe just looks more stylish.
Also there will be over 30K 350Z produced each year, and only 12000 G35 coupes produced each year which means the Z will be more common on the road.
Don't get me wrong, I respect and like the Z. We are really brothers and should hand together!
'03 G35 coupe, Diamond Graphite/Graphite, Premium, NAVI, 6 speed comming in november.

I was equally torn between the two until last weekend when I saw a coupe in Concord, CA. More people, including Infiniti salespeople, were outside checking out my Z than were inside looking at the G35C.
