I am getting ready to do this also...what exactly did you use for the exhaust? Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.
I used a Mother's Cone set in a drill with AutoGlym Metal Polish. Be sure to tape off the surrounding paint as the drill WILL want to skip off the curved tips. My tips were REALLY badly pitted and blackened. With a lot of persistance, they will eventually look good again. I'm positive the previous owners had never polished them. 12 years of accumulated junk took about an hour to remove.
then seal them! beforei put on the new axle back on the vette, i cleaned the tips with alcohol, and then layed on some OptiCoat. now when i wash the car, one swoop of the mf cloth and they are clean

Pulled the seat belts and sold those for $20... Special note on seat belts if you ever remove them make sure they dont retractable fully because they wont come back out... Dude drove here to buy them for $100 but once removed from the car they wouldn't come back out... So sold them for $20 o well.
Update on seat belts, apparently they need to be in the correct position for them to work... Dude brought them home swapped them out and they worked out fine...
Guess I lost some $$$ not knowing that little tid bit of info...
Taking things apart is always fun, it's putting things back together where i start to lose interest haha
Anything you're planning to use for your car?
I know ripping things apart is most definitely the best part, I found a piece of the rear end I might actually use...
I will probably end up using the engine cradle and the front brace... Ill keep all the suspension most likely also...
I did consider making a trailer out of the rear subframe and suspension, I do have another complete rear suspension laying around... We will see
If nobody ends up wanting this engine soon enough I have an S10 over here that wouldn't mind a little boost in performance.
This car was actually in very good shape before it was smashed from behind and sat around for 2 years. The pinch seems all were perfect untill the other day when I deformed them with my floor jack.
