Default Invidia G200 exhaust pics

Boxes:

whole exhaust:

muffler/ti tips:

piping:

measurements:

i guess i'm measuring outer diameters...

tips are about 11.5cm (115mm)(4.53") -- dammit, the tips came a little deformed due to shipping but the Ti is easily bendable to re-shape.

cat->exhaustpipe diameter is actually 5.1cm (51mm)(2.01") each:

it seems to taper off very slightly from the inlet to outlet of the first segment of the midpipe from 5.1cm (noted above) to about 4.9cm (49mm)(1.93")

-----------------------------

So there you have it. contrary to what invidia claims in their website (http://www.invidia-europe.com/nissan.htm) where it clearly states 2.5" piping, it is NOT. That is a very poor misprint. the piping is about 2" in the beginning and tapers off to about 1.93" in the midpipe back for each side.

is this bad? i dunno -- since these are actually true dual design, can you compare ypipe systems to true dual? how large are each pipes for other true dual exhausts?

at any rate, the build quality of this thing is incredible... weight savings, i havent checked yet.

after emailing invidia (europe) they admitted to the fact that the 2.5" piping that is listed on their website is actually a mistake and it is FALSE info. theyre correcting this asap apparently.

here's a dyno that invidia-europe provided to me... i'm not quite sure how to read this one!! any ideas?

awesome post- now there is concrete info on the numbers, thanks jkoc. the looks of that thing are killer, for the price a true dual, all stainless exhaust with a look like that is a steal. when are you planning on installing? i know i'm not alone when i say clips are eagerly anticipated! thanks for the pics, post up your impressions once you have it on the car.

...coming from Europe, maybe it has to do with the metric system...
"they don't call it a quarter-pounder? ...nah man they got the metric system, they don't know what the f@ck a quarter-pounder is..."

Damn..Very nice exhaust...I am actually trying to choose between this, HKS Ti, and the APS. When you take the sound clips, it would be greatly appreciated to get some in/out of the car, and at as many different throttle loads as possible! I am really anxious to hear this exhaust! I have heard one sound clip before on a s/c Z, but it was hard to hear b/c of the whine and it was in a garage revving which does nothing since I dont rev my car up all day.

Yes I wanna know weight as well. I would think 2" piping would be to small for NA and definately to small for FI but im not sure.

hey guys

i weighed it with a somewhat poor scale -- its probably accurate by +/-2lbs at this time. i would say the scale is off by around 2lbs less. i dont have any better scale heh.

the entire exhaust weighs about 59lbs. the new bolts and gaskets are about 0.5lbs.
so i'd say its probably around 60-61lbs.

i did a search for stock exhaust weight and it is 67.5lbs according to the dude in the following post, who weighed his stock exhaust...

https://my350z.com/forum/showthread....exhaust+weight

so about a 7lbs weight savings... not as huge a saving as some other exhausts but still good to know its at least lighter somewhat.... kinda negligible savings though.

correction: jeff@evo quotes 10hp, 8ft-lb from invidia's testing

I have the same exhaust and installed it a couple of weeks ago. It sounds awesome. The install was pretty easy. The stock muffler was a PITA to get off though. Fit is very good also. I'm sure you won't be dissappointed.

On a side note, I bought mine on ebay from vedubin.I paid $741 shipped. Ther is still one available. I'll try to post the linkhttp://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...sPageName=WDVW

Mucky (or anyone who has this exhaust) -

Can somone get some good sound clips of this exhaust from in and out of the car? I wanna hear this exhaust while driving instead of revs. Has anyone heard this and the HKS, or APS exhaust? If so, how does it compare? Does this exhaust still retain the stock melodic tone like the HKS?

The exhaust is gorgeous guys. It fit perfectly, absolutely no modifications to make it fit. Straight bolt on application.

The sound is incredible. Think about "stock" sound, but with a little more bass tones and growl.

the g200 really has two personalities... "stock mode" or "mean machine mode". In "stock exhaust" personality, It really is a quiet exhaust. You cant notice ANY hint of aftermarket exhaust tones when idle. when you drive normally, you hear same stock sound but with a slight addition of bass low-end growl. If youre not paying attention, you would still think it is stock exhaust. Then for the "mean machine mode", when you start driving aggressive, you can definitely tell theres an aftermarket exhaust. It is quite a mean sounding deep drilling sound. When you punch the throttle, it screams gorgeously. Not at all "farty" or "boomy". When youre just coasting, theres absolutely no droning overpowering noise in the cabin. I can definitely take long road trips with this exhaust whilst listening to music CD's without being annoyed by any droning noises.

here are some audio clips of the exhaust.
SOUND CLIPS
clip 1:
"invidiag200\invidia_g200_insidesound.wav"
Taken from inside the car, Blipping the throttle a lil, then accelerating, then my blackberry phone went off heh heh

clip2:
"invidia_g200_insidesound_accel_thenfullthrottle_thencoastin g.wav"
Taken from inside the car, windows down, accelerated from stop, then a few seconds in 2nd gear i went full throttle, and then 3rd gear, then coasted a little bit. Notice that the exhaust has ZERO droning sound when coasting.

clip3:
"invidia g200_outside.mov"
a clip of the exhaust sound in a parking lot... just revving.

i havent had a chance to get some help from a friend to record a "fly-by" shot from outside.. i'll do that later...

As for performance, despite the fact that the piping diameters seem rather small (for which i was a little worried about), i guess since it is true dual design, you cant really compare that with a y-pipe design with 2.25 or 2.5" piping. i definitely felt the car being peppier than stock... at 4000+rpm, the car roars and gets the extra kick in the butt.

i highly recommend this exhaust for those that want something like an HKS piece but doesnt wanna spend a tonne of $$. It is for those who want to be inconspicuous when needed, and loud when needed. depending on the way you drive, you can make this car sound near stock, or like a screaming mean growling machine. this is a quality system from fit to finish, definite gains -- but i cannot prove it since i did not dyno. and best of all, the price is outstanding at about 900shipped.

well done invidia the only thing that i didnt like is that the titanium tips came crushed when it was shipped. i was able to bang it out and make it somewhat acceptable -- invidia was willing to ship me a new one but i didnt wanna bother since i already tapped out the tips to a reasonable shape.

i bought this from Steve at http://www.evolutionautosports.com. Outstanding service. FAST turnaround time. it was shipped to canada in 5 days.... that is damn fast. thanks to Steve!
