Default Fresh Pics: Chrome Silver w/ Veilside Aero, G35 19, Hotchkis Drop

So, I'm sure many of you caught the pics in, "Just installed G35 Wheels and Spacers" thread, but I got the car lowered last night and took some better pics today... Enjoy!

Plenty more where that came from, but its getting late, so I'm not resizing/uploading to photobucket tonight. Also, look for some pics of my car at the AAM meet tomorrow (to be uploaded tomorrow night).

The Hotchkis drop is great. Handles and rides similar to stock; spring rates very similar, but it definitely gave a good drop. Advertised was .6" front, .8" rear. I'd say it's more like .8" front, 1" rear... it's beautiful though!

Thanks for the compliments guys. To answer a few questions I saw pop up/respond to a few suggestions.

1) I picked up the V1 kit in pieces from these forums, so the front is CF and the sides/rear are fiberglass. The fitment of the kit is "OK". Obviously unless you look at it from 2 ft. away you can't see fitment issues. The biggest issue with the CF rear is that to mount it, it causes a crack near the mount in the glass. I'm guessing with eurethane it would "stretch" enough not to crack, but there is a small (.2") crack at each mounting location on the rear. I fixed it once and remounted it and it cracked again, so I just gave up. I may mold it someday, we'll see.

2) I've never heard of the Hotchkis sitting lower on one side before this, but now that you mention it, when the car is in my garage (exactly flat) the passenger side rear APPEARS to sit a tad lower than the drivers. I thought this was b/c I hadn't gotten an alignment yet and the camber or somethign was different. Either way it's a) not much at all. maybe 2-5mm and b) since the spring rates aren't that stiff the stance changes anyway when you park on non-even ground (which is pretty often, i'd guess). I mean, even if a parking lot is "flat" it probably isn't flat as a garage floor. I've parked places where the drivers side appeared lower, for instance...

3) As far as blacking the tails, I tried it once before with the bat overlays and screwed them up and just never tried again. Now that you mention it though, with the tinted front markers, etc. the red taillights do appear a little out of place. Maybe I'll try spray tint this time... unless someone can help me apply the bluebats. Mine just wouldn't go on for hell... heated them up so they'd stretch and all. Who knows, we'll see. It's a good idea though. Clean up the look a bit I believe.

My friend saw your car at AAM and he was trying to figure out why your car looked so much like a G35. hahaha.....I gave him a hint. I didn't realize you had smoked lens...so i'd +1 on turing those tails black. Your car will look pretty good!
