Nismo Z #1213 w/ Nismo graphics
#1213 currently up for grabs at Pacific Nissan in San Diego. We added the dual Nismo intakes to it and had the Nismo graphics profesionally applied. As the resident Z expert on staff, it was my idea to do this and management listened. Dunno if anyone else has done the graphics on the Nismo Z yet, but I think they look awesome on the car, especially in this color, and compliment the overall Nismo theme. What do you guys think?

Maybe it is just me but I think it looks too busy. Good idea adding the intakes though.

It looks good, but I would have left it alone. Next time you might photoshop it and ask people's opinion before you do it. Some people will like it and some people won't. You're losing some potential customers and you can always offer it as an add-on if they want. I'm sure you'll sell it, but it just looks bad to management if it sits on the lot forever.
My opinion is that it will attract either:
1) Younger buyers (16-21'ish year olds)
2) Middle-aged buyers who want to be younger (43+ year olds with a crisis)
If I were able to cash out...what? $39-$40+k on a car, I would not want it to have stickers all up and down on it. That is, unless Nismo were my sponsor and were sending me free stuff...
My 0.2 cents...

Well, it's a marketing strategy for sure. We don't sell to many Zs to begin with and Nismos have been sitting at other dealers out here for long periods of time (other dealers in town still have some from the '07 batch). People that know the cars well and have done their homework know they can walk in and get the car for near invoice; that's what we'd like to try to avoid (we gave the last one away). Some of those people may shy away from this one, but it tends to attract others that don't know so much about the car that might be willing to pay closer to MSRP for it. We've already had one such interested party check out the car the day we got it back from the graphics install. It's all about hype and how you present it (none of which would work on anyone here). We'll see how it goes...
plus, I've been kicking around the idea of putting the graphics on my car for quite some time and seeing them in person on a similar car of the same color really helps, so I had somewhat of an alterior motive in suggesting it being done, lol. Also, keep in mind opinions will vary based on the simple fact that some people like graphics, while others do not, regardless of the car.

It's definitely a personal thing, but I don't think price has much to do with it. If you look at the Porsche GT3RS, that's a 100K+ car and the big bold graphics look right at home on it.
On a side note, with the NISMOs not selling to well, maybe they really will cut production at 1500.

(actually I'm 33
but is the same... several people telling me that this car is for kids and I should drive something more appropriate).

It's deffinitely very striking and attention grabbing in person. The couple people that have expressed serious interest in it thus far have been military guys (mid-thirties) that go on deployment several months at a time and come back with big checks and in want of a big toy to reward themselves.
The MSRP on the car is $39,105. I didn't look to see what kind of rediculous markup they put on the graphics and intakes (I'm really against big markups for stuff like that, but it's negotiable, anyway). I also made sure they kept all of the stock intake parts to go along with the car.

Interesting note on the Nismo Z: as I was looking over everything on the car, I noticed that though it does have the Nismo suspension, it does NOT come with the Nismo sways; they are stock.

Technically, I guess it would qualify as being an S-tune, as that consists of the body kit, suspension and exhaust. R-tune parts are things like headers, HFCs, cams and even the intake is R-Tune, I believe. My car has all of the S-tune components, though I have parts from other manufacturers that make it the equivalent to an R-tune, so I'm not sure which decals I would put on mine if I decided to do the graphics...

Actually the car does not have the s-tune suspension or exhaust. It has a different suspension unique to this car. The front sway is standard, but the the rear is different, the springs/shocks are stiffer than stock but softer than the s-tune line, and the exhaust is merely a shiny factory muffler with special tips. It shares nothing with the s-tune product line.
