Good 1/8 trap hitting 89mph-If Im reading that slip right its kinda blurry.

When I was trapping 88-90mph on the TN setup, I would trap 114-116mph, never any higher or lower.

I think even though you spun the tires you may have been in some water or out of the groove as you spun pretty good in 2nd gear.

The setup has tons more in it, I expected to see more 1/4 trap show up seeing as how even spinning the 1/8 trap is there but it will show up when you start hooking.

I ran Mt Et Streets 11.5" X 16" @ 14-16.5psi

For me, camber is set to -1 degree in the rear. Keep in mind stock specs can be -1.6-2.2 IIRC, and every year I see about .1-.2 more negative camber, so if yours hasnt been adjusted/checked in a while you arent helping your situation!

Thanks for the advice Alberto. I'm out of town on business this week but when I get back I will be visiting a local Jegs store to figure out some tires. I just wanna be able to shift as fast as I can without losing traction and the MT's seem to be the key. The weird thing is that I got worse traction at the strip than I do on the street. I don't feel too bad, a 405hp ZO6 Vette with some bolt on's could only muster a 13.4 @ 107 though as he couldn't put his power down either with his street tires, he did beat me on my first run and had a 250 shot of NOS he wasn't using lol. He along with many other domestic guys there were quite impressed with my Z

 

Did you let air out of your rear tires? I ran mine ~18psi. I got better traction on the strip than on the street, by far.

Also you should practice doing a better burnout. Street tires need to spin alot longer to get sticky.

 

What do you run? And with how much power?

 

Pilot Sport Ps2 nice and sticky street tire. Loved them and they are quite too. Best street tires. I have ever owned. And they don't take much to warm up. I got back my most of my 2nd gear with them.

 

18psi is dangerously low on a street tire. I wouldn't go below 20-22.

I was running 24 psi in the rear and 40 psi on the fronts. Do you guys think a longer burnout will help street tires? I was always told it doesn't help.

 

No, street tires just need a quick spin to get the water and debris off.

The nice thing about the PS2 tires is that they are fairly good in the rain. As far as stickiness, well, OK.

On my last build. my 245/30 R18 tires spun even in 4th gear with stock camber. I changed to Toyo R888 305/30 R19 tires. They are almost 25% wider, so this is not a completely fair comparison. But the camber on the R888's was increased for road racing (I think it was around 2.5 deg. or so over stock), which offsets much of the advantage of being wider.

I had less slipage with the R888's in 3rd gear with the increased camber than I had with the PS2's in 4th gear with stock camber. The R888's are not very good in the rain, though.

It is all a tradeoff between dry performance and wet performance. The PS2 is a good all around tire, but there are better tires for wet performance and there are better tires for dry performance. If you need both, then the PS2 might be a good choice. If you need dry traction, there are better tires available.
