All VQ's have chains. Nothing to change until way after 100K miles.

Even a timing belt wouldn't need to be changed until around 60-100K miles.

what he said!

plus, if anyone change a timing belt at 10k, he or she is way too crazy.

and how come this is in the 370z section?

I suspect he meant to say 100K kilometers. there aren't many 03s with 10K miles on them.

I'm confused. I thought chains can last the live of the vehicle.

They basically do. If you tear the engine down at 150K, 200K or beyond, you'd probably find that the chain is getting a little slack in it. You could replace it then or probably replace the tensioners as they will show some signs of wear.
