BTW, props to Berto for recommending the Lomo Saltado at Sardi's. The rice and the fries were a bit much for this new thing I'm doing [no carbs] but the steak was pretty good. Tried something called Tres Leches for desert too. That was pretty good as well. We should have a 'Peruvian Meet' somewhere one night.

Ummm, okay so I don't normally post much but this is getting pretty ridiculous. Shin, you might want to take a step back and look in the mirror at who you think your "friends" really are, but that's a whole other issue. Apparently I'm fake now? hmm PLEASE tell me how? Let me do it for you. I mod my car to MY liking and don't really care what others think as long as I can look back and say its fun and that I like the way it looks. I choose not to race, not because I can't but as a safety precaution. Sorry some of us are slightly more mature and don't find the need to record a video while they're driving 100+ on a public street. You've just burned some bridges my friend.

I also "grew a pair" and confronted him about it....in front of everyone here no less. I don't feel it was a puss azz move whatsoever. The post and comment I felt had no point or context that necessitated it and it didn't belong...simple as that. I explained myself and I feel Ethan and I came to an amicable end (I know atleast I have no hard feelings)...and yeah I can be sensitive to certain things just like many of us here.
To be honest I can't stand the way this "region" is anymore...all the arguing..the completely biased way of "moderating" and the overall general lack of respect. You guys who post regularly have to understand this is still a public area and others beside you view it and come here for local stuff.
You guys want to run this like the "Wild Wild West" with no rules and treat it as your own personal "neighborhood". IMO if thats how you want it run purchase your domain and start your own site...otherwise I feel the T.O.U. should be followed like everywhere else...not on a personally biased level. I know there is more than one of you who here who can do this. This was one of the best regions to come to for knowledge and fun. It has now become a land of backhanded jokes and e thugging imo.

I agree with you for the most part, however if the T.O.U's are to be followed then they should be followed across the board, and not enacted in select situations or at selected individuals. No one specifically said no moderation, however the "region" has never really had a problem before.
secondly you say that this region has become a section for backhanded jokes and e-thuggin, I will give you E-thuggin, however this region has always been thrived off of inside jokes/backhanded comments etc, partially because it was at one time anyway, a very tight knit group, and situations that transpired in person were often carried over to the online realm.
what we have now is a shell of a region, with a handful of people that actually post up, so naturally when you have such a small group constantly posting, the topics/posts whatever, will be heavily slanted towards their activities etc.
In general the region fell off for several reason, many sold their cars, a newer younger demographic purchased the vechicle, the scene died in general..
I must say over the last couple of day I have seen people post up things that I dont think they would ever say in person (at least not in the tone presented, thats for sure)
This region ( and the forum in general) has never been one to boast civility, but it has certainly been further degraded from its already "thick skin" environment...
though I understand where you're coming from Robbie, most would agree that it's best to speak to the person directly via PM/txt/FB msg if something directly bothers you. I'm sure he (or anyone else) would oblige and remove the post.
The only thing "reporting" does is increase the tension.
For example, imagine you and your friends smoking weed in your own backyard. The neighbor has his kids running around outside and the kids catch a glimpse of the activity. He could either:
A: directly approach you and kindly ask, "can you please do this inside the house? I know it's your business but i do not want my children being influenced by what society (TOU) deems as illegal behavior.
B: Report you to the cops for illegal behavior
I can tell you exactly what happens in each scenario:
A: group of friends continue on their merry way inside the house, away from the kids, and everyone lives happily ever after.
B: you think your neighbor is a nosy **** because you have cops knocking on your door asking stupid questions when you're just minding your own business. Not only that, the whole neighborhood now knows of your dirty laundry (public confrontation) Then, you get prosecuted and put in time out. (aka, increase tension) Your relationship with your neighbor will probably never be the same again, and everyone hates each other.
The only thing "reporting" does is increase the tension.
