Mississippi State

I'm applying to Mississippi State for graduate school in the Geo-sciences department with a concentration in Broadcast Meteorology. I was wondering if anyone could tell me anything about the area. Starkville Mississippi doesn't sound too appealing to me, I would just like to know what I am in for.

Also, anyone around that area? If I go, I will be starting August of 2007.

i've been to starkvegas once or twice. got in and got out asap. and that was only for football games.

i find that most city names that end in "ville" scare the schit out of me...

I always make sure I have a full tank of gas before going through such places..
