Performance shops - if you own a stock car - well ya - this is redneck country
The cost of living is cheap so you can afford to live in KC, Overland park, Olathe and have a house in southern MO, on the lake, near party cove
:
Now for The Professional and Idwin - Marbles in there mouth -
I never thought of it that way - but OK! And I thought you guys liked me
After my discussions with Idwin - I'm guessing I won't see you this year in Branson -

I live in KC (well independence) and havent really found the Z scene to be that active, there is a Z club, heart of america z car club, not sure how active they are as i havent checked it out yet. I just had the events director approach me after he saw my Z parked outside a QT and give me his card.

I do recommend you guys try to make the Nebraska Midwest Z fest this year. I believe they have the Mid America Motorplex and a drag strip pinned down.
For jonb7007 - I didn't say that you wouldn't be having car fun. It is just not the west coast. Google - HAZCC - Heart of America Z Car Club- We have a club. Try the "ZONE" (Z's of Nebraska)out of Nebraska. By the look of the Sig - you would like the Nebraska guys
RJ_KC - http://www.bransonzfest.com/ Here is something you could attend to get a feel for the Z community. It isn't ZdayZ - but it is a good party for 3 days. There a more cruises scheduled for this year. Great winding roads in the Ozarks. It is close and good Z people.

Interesting.
Can anyone comment on the winter aspect? Does all modding and parts buying stop when the car goes away for the winter, or do you take this opportunity to get as much done to the car as possible??

. I drive a Kia Rio most of the time. That way I REALLY appreciate the Z when I get in it.
St.Louis Area
There are several shops that do stuff.
Adrenaline Motorsports
Speed and Sound
HTP - Hi-Tuned Performance
I've been to those three shops.
there are a few other shops out here that i havent visited and they seem small.
St.Louis is more of a American Muscle Car Area.
GatewayZ Club does throw in some cruises and we do have meets like 2 times a month.m This year GatewayZ Club is gonna have a buncha events.
Branson Z Fest is coming up in May.
St.Louis is a pretty boring city with worthless shops.
If i was to dump in a buncha money on my motor.
My Car Will deff be going outta state.
my Daily Driven Z might be getting sold tho
Due to School and im also getting my realestate license.
so i will have another Z as a weekend car in a year or so.
The Tech
one of my fellow Z friend said you do have a sweet Z tho.
If you do come out this way.
Deff. would love to see it in person.

No problem with winter here, never stop modding because of winter!!!
We should make a Z cruise night here around Overland Park/ Olathe. My friend always have Evo cruises, but I have yet seen anything for the Z. Every Friday night at 135 & Blackbob (Sonic), there always a cruise...mostly honda and mustang (more likely highschool kid i would say, but we can always go for the heck of it)
PM me if anyone up to it.

The only hard part modding in the winter, is getting it to and from some place. The Blizzak's get me around when I'm not driving the Big Truck around.
Modding happens in our house year round - on both vehicles if there is enogh money to go around.
Would a local shop make me happy = yes.
But then I would have to pay sales tax = no.
You're not talking about coming to STL though -- so going up to GRD in Chicago or over to you in KC doens't make much of a travel difference -- same time to get there. And if we go up to Chicago we get in a family visit so I stay in good with the in-laws

Somewhere in the middle would be good for me, but bad for business I'm sure.
You go on the Kansas side of KC, and I can still get stuff w/o tax though.
But I'm also not a person to talk since I am done modding for a while. Next item will be a new engine.

Yea.... meet ups are rare here in Kansas City unless you know somebody. I have yet to attend a meet here in KC. As performance shops wise.... well people here it seems like are still in hondas still. But there 2 performance shops that I heard are good. Nu Image and RevLine performance. When you move here to KC let us know.
