From: Kansas City, MO.
The following was taken from the Kansas City based Heart of America Z Car Club website-www.hazcc.com.
Mark Saturday, May 26 on your calendar for the May DaZe CruiZe.
If you're not familiar with the MDC, this is a day trip to a place of interest close to Kansas City. You'll be using less than a tank of gas.
This year's destination (which I normally don't disclose) is Lexington, MO. Lexington is a very historical town where a major Civil War battle was fought in 1861. The battlefield is located close to downtown Lexington and the grounds are open to take a walking tour on.
Downtown Lexington is the old time town square with the court house in the center. If you look at the columns on the front, you'll see a cannon ball still imbedded from 1861. There are lots of restaurants and shops to stroll also.
From Lexington we'll cruize on over to ? I'm still giving that some thought.
The route is pretty spectacular. For those of you who have been on zcar_dad's Drive In The Country the route will seem like "deja vu all over again". I have added a slight twist to it just so I can take partial (maybe 1%) credit for it.
I'll post later where and when to meet. For now mark you calendar for May 26.
BTW, if your Z's in the shop or not driveable, don't worry about it. You can drive a Buick if you want/need to. It just won't be quite as much fun for you is all.
