LOL its way cheaper to build a mustang over a vette, and the LT1 vette would be one of the worst platforms! LS1 camaro would be cheaper and much easier to do. I wont argue that a mustang is cheap to mod and make fast.

Not saying that anybody with Mustangs or Camaros are rednecks, but that's the predominant demographic of who drives them in MS.
I almost got a GT before the Z. I had to choose between the my 05' Z and an 06' GT. I was leanin towards the GT because it had leather and was pretty much fully loaded. I think the only reason I got the Z was the money. They wanted like 2 grand more for the mustang and I already had to drain my savings for the Z. I am much happier now with the Z, because I can corner a shitload better than mustangs and GTOs. Mustangs are faster in the eyes of the Ocean Springs Sonic Ricers, but on the twisties the Z tears them a new one. Everytime I think I want another car I go take a trip over to Lamey Bridge and take some corners.
I don't autocross, so I don't care about that. And a stock 05 gt is faster than my car. Plus my dad would actually let me out headers and stuff on it. And I would save a ton of money on mods. Final drives for a mustang are 250 and final drives for a z are atleast 750
