Yea, like that will ever happen in the summer in the South, maybe if you lived in CANADA .
At least the weather will be cooler than the last time I was at Roebling!

In the summer....hardly happens at all.

Don't envy your drive over from Albany...no easy way to go. I travel over there to play golf at Stonebridge from time to time.

Yes, I either go through Macon or Waycross. Neither one is easy. Funny thing is if you draw a straight line, it is not that far from Albany to Savannah. Oh well, I will probably drive through Macon since it is faster that way.

I take 257 into Hawkinsville, then head to Cochran on 129 and take 278 to the Montrose exit on I-16 just above Dublin. You'll hit 257 Exit just after leaving 300 to get on I-75.

Do you think that is faster? How are the roads around there (the only reason I ask is that I will be hauling a trailer).

I played golf with a guy who lived in Albany for many, many years. His business dictated that he travel to Statesboro five or six times each year to inspect my facility...this is the route he showed me. The roads are in excellent condition and not heavily travelled or patrolled...just learn the turns and it's cake.

Looking at the map again I was mistaken...I take the Dudley/Dexter exit just above Dublin. This puts me on 257 into Dexter / Chester / Empire before ending up in Hawkinsville. Reverse order for you headed to I-16, but you stay on 257 the whole way.

I will try that, the distance looks a lot shorter, but wasn't sure about the speeds you could travel. Thanks.

From I-75 to Hawkinsville you make make pretty quick time....keep in mind these are two lane roads and I did not travel them during planting season (read tractors/combines).

There was a good bit of construction going on in Hawkinsville after you cross the river...you'll turn left after the longish bridge and then right a short distance later. (construction is finished by now)

There is one more zig right and zag left, where you hit a main road for a very brief period then turn back to the left. If you have a MS Streets & Trips or use Google maps, zoom in for these little turns.

You can travel 65mph, but your average speed will be less as you'll hit some 35mph zones. I do not see any issues with the trailer, and have to believe the guy who had to make this trip so often knew the quickest route.

Weather looks like it is going to be GREAT for us, High 80's on Sat and Sunday and only a 20% chance of rain!

I am really looking forward to this and can't wait to meet some of you.

Wow what a great time everyone had! First off I have to give a big THANK YOU to my wife Sheila for preparing, organizing and doing 99.9% of the work involved.

We had about 44 people at 730 and before the night was over their was a rough total 60+ people who had come and gone. The BBQ was great, beer was cold, and camaraderie was the best! Could not have asked for better weather either and no bugs. We showed a couple of folks videos of the days event, ran our mouths a lot and just generally had a great time.

I am sorry to say that I took only two photos before my beer got in the way of the camera lens (if anyone has any pictures please share) and I'll get those posted up tonight.

Also thanks goes out to Mike (frostyrock7c) & Caryn with some last minute details. And for Will Stokes for bringing 300 dollars more of liquor (like I really needed more ).

We will have to do a better job of promoting next year as we could have fed another 30 people easy.

Thanks to all who came out and joined the Traingle Z club & us for the event! Could not have had better company!

Mike

Mike,
Thanks for having the party - you have a garage that I would die for! It was a great time and good to meet people from the event that you never have a chance to talk to since you are in class or on the track all day.

Now - I want to see some V I D E O! You took some amazing shots with your camera during the weekend and the best being when you mounted it to that Black Z with the Twin Turbo

I do have to say that is the best video I've ever taken and the subject was not to bad either . Thanks again Mike for letting tape up you ever so clean ride with my camera.

I'll work on editing it tonight and see if I can't get it hosted up.
