Default Attn all Tampa / Clearwater guys. I need some relocation help

Hey guys,
I am planning on making a move down to the Tampa / clearwater / st. pete area in the next few months. I need some help though. I have been down there to visit a friend twice, but the area seems quite expansive, and hard to navigate now looking at a map. I need some suggestions on very specific areas / buildings to help narrow my search. I am soon to be 25 and VERY much want to be in a young professionals area. I would love to be near the bars / clubs so I can make the most of my dwindling youth. One of my criteria is that I either have a private garage or a parking deck of some kind. I am completely open to being in a high rise condo (kinda prefer it) and need to be in a relatively safe area. (mind you Im coming from DC, so Im sure ALL of what you guys have is safer than what Im ised to, haha). ANY suggestions whatsoever, or directions to point me in would be greatly appreciated. Oh, and I am looking for a 2 or 3 bedroom (2+bath) and would realy like to keep the rent between 1200-1400 or less not including utilities. Thanks Guys!!!!

Tampa / Clearwater / St. Pete -- That's a very large area. I've grown up in the northern suburbs of Tampa, so I can tell you about Tampa, and maybe a little about Clearwater.

Ybor City is where the biggest club scene is. There might just be some condos right there. I don't know. There is also a lot of "undesireable" housing in that area. Personally, I'd just as soon rent a house or apartment in Brandon. It's mostly nice and new and very suburban - and very close to Ybor.

I've spent a bit of time in Clearwater and Clearwater Beach - very poplular with the young folks on the weekend - probably just as good a choice as Ybor for late night festivities. Plenty of condos, but I don't know how much it costs to live there.

It really depends on where you are going to work. If you're working in Tampa, you don't want to cross one of the bridges to St Pete, and vice versa.

If you wanna be by the bars Hyde Park is the place to be. I live in Hyde Park right now which is South Tampa and I see hot chics around here every single day. When you moving down? I can show you around if you haven't already made it down.

Good Stuff guys. I really appreciate it. ShezzzHot, Thanks to you as well. I am supposed to be transfering through my company "supposedly" within the next few months...I am at he mercy of them on when though. I prompted the move though because I just cant afford the lifestyle I want here in DC, mainly housing. Spending $400,000 on an 800 square foot 1 bed condo with a $350 a month HOA fee AND $150 a month per parking space does NOT make me feel warm and cozy inside. I know it is still pricey down there but so much more reasonable. Thanks again guys...anyother tips are appreciated.
