Another update to add:
While it wasn't advertised in the event registration and promotion, we are going to host our annual driver appreciation and time trial awards banquet during the February VIR Full Course weekend. The banquet will be held at The Institute Conference Center Saturday night beginning at 6:30. The Conference Center is just near the Danville Airport. This will be a buffet style dinner and cash bar. Trophies for the 2007 Time Trial series will be awarded at this time. The banquet is included in your event entry fee. So even if you didn't participate in the time trial, please come out and enjoy some fine food with us.

Trust me, at first you will most likely be less hard on the car than most of the ZDayZ driving and other spirited driving most on here do. Plus if you AutoX, it's about the same.

so is mine!! Man up and get on the track

Marty is right, your first few times you will be much less hard on your car then any good "spirited" driving days on some twisty roads.

See if you can do one day only, save some money and see if ya like the whole experiance before dropping a ton into it.

I am in the same boat as you, and I am out there. My car is an 07! Also, I go one further than Marty, I think that AutoX is harder on the car than the track (assuming you don't hit anything). Even if that said, I think I seen about the same number of accidents at AutoX as the track, maybe more.

Well,
I want to thank everyone for another GREAT event. Things went very smoothly and we had so little issues that they aren’t worth mentioning. We seem to have a great class of drivers every time and it makes putting on these events a pleasure. I also want to thank all those who helped us put on these things.

I am also glad we filled the banquet hall Saturday night. The food and company were top notch.

I hope to see a few more Z’s in April.

Clicking on the link above will take you to all that info... but for everyone's benefit:

Sat/Sun, April 5-6, Virginia Int'l Raceway North Course, High-Performance Driver's Education

$350 - includes t-shirt

You'll get three 25 to 30 minute track sessions with top-notch in-car instructors both days, and classroom instruction between the track sessions. You'll get lots of high-quality laps in each session because we limit our run groups to 15 cars per mile maximum.

We had a GREAT weekend last weekend on Full Course... 60's and sunny on Saturday, 50's and windy on Sunday, but DRY all weekend. No major incidents (though word of advice... if you go off track at VIR when the grass is dry and dormant... keep moving will ya? Just ask Mhoward1)

Here are some sample pics from Mark Boudoucies from the weekend:

Marty decided the grass outside T17 was too tall... so when "mowing it" didn't work, he decided to set it on fire.

Other people thought it looked fun and tried it as well in other spots... one guy went a little crazy and burnt up his 944 though

We spent a couple hundred bucks on fire extinguisher charges to VIR this weekend

It was good meeting you and your Dad Bill... glad you had a good time!
