So after a month or so of complaining about my new headunit/amp/subwoofer I decided it was time to fix the rest of the car's audio problems (aka factory speakers) so I could tweak things. As I was browsing around Best Buy on Friday I noticed all Pioneer speakers were 50% off, including components. I knew as soon as I started looking that the Pioneer components weren't close to a direct fit for the Z at all, but I figured for 50% off I could deal with a little frustration in installing them. They're certainly not the best, but for $75 it was a deal too good to turn down

Anyway, I just wanted to share some pics (sorry for the quality, they're from my cell phone) of how I spent my weekend Click on the thumbnails for a larger view...



You can see the mounts I had to create to make the woofer clear the window glass and mount in the stock location...nope they're not pretty, haha. Otherwise, cutting the panel to fit the tweeters was fairly easy...not a bad way to spend some time on the weekend.

Thanks again to all of those who offered tips on tweaking my subwoofer - now that I have better speakers in the doors, it's amazing how much I've been able to make the entire car audio sound better.
