wellllll driving to tampa the other night, in the middle of no where on state road 60, and i hit a dead something or other in the middle of the road which sent the whole front end of the car flying and in result the bottom engine cover got torn off and the oil lines got ripped out of the upper oil pan.. pull over on the side of the road and the car is just smoking the oil is all over the placel.. all in all, stuck in the middle of no where for 2 hours waiting for a ride and $1500 of damage, and leaving my car in winter haven for a week while it gets fixed when i live in delray beach..fml

OMG Joe that's awful!! Sorry to hear about your car. Is insurance going to help? It could have been a lot worse (aka flying into a guardrail, totaling car, etc).. Thank goodness you weren't hurt though.
While we're on the topic of FML...
I need a new (or used in good condition) transmission. FML.

Well I found out on Saturday that I need an entire new transmission. At first I thought it was just the synchros since 5th and 6th gears grind. I thought, well, I'll bring it into the dealership, maybe it's low on fluid. It's not. When you're low on fluid, typically it grinds from 1st to 2nd, not 4th to 5th and 4th to 6th. So then I was like maybe I can just get the synchros replaced, but my tech at Orlando Infiniti (whom I have worked with and been friends with for over 3 years) told me that replacing the synchros would only be a temporary fix since the aluminum in the shaft/bearing is being worn down since it's not a strong metal. That isn't replaceable and I need a whole new trans.
Yesterday I talked to Marti at Slowboy Racing and he told me to bring the car in sometime this week and he will add some kind of synchro fluid (not GM Synchromesh, but something similar) for me and it may fix the problem after all.

Well, I took my car to Slowboy last night. Marti replaced my fluids in trans and diff. Gears are still grinding (which I had a bad feeling about) which means I need a new transmission. FML. I'm gonna see what I can find... I'll be making a call to Jim at Turbo Toys today at some point. I'd love to find a 009 trans but I just need to price everything out first. Yesterday was a sad day
