I am having this problem with the car. I hear a clicking noise coming from the right side, from what I've read on the technical forum, they say it can be the axle splines that are dry and need to be relubed/retorqued. It happens when there is a shift on the load of the car, like when taking off in first or in reverse.
I took my car to Maroone this morning, for the 3rd time, first time was for service and for the noise, which i didn't know what it was, 2nd time was to show the guy the noise that i was talking about because they couldn't duplicate it, today because i told them i thought it was the axle spline and if they called Nissan Techline they should know about it (according to the people who got it fixed). Well, they say they can't find anything wrong still.
So i wanted to take it to another dealership to see if they can fix the problem. What I am wondering is if any of you south florida Z guys have had this problem and gotten it fixed, if so, where at so that i can get this done.
Thanks in advance.

i had the problem with mine and was able to duplicate it for my service rep; i brought it to maroone nissan - i also printed out the tsb that goes along with this issue and handed it to the service rep, so there would be no 'confusion' on his part (seems some nissan reps have a difficult time knowing what to do in some circumstances...)
needless to say, they fixed it and the problem has not come back...
good luck!

yes indeed, there is no specific TSB for it...
i also found this thread at 350zfrenzy.com
apparently in most cases either the rear axles were replaced or re-lubed...

i could have sworn there was a tsb for this at one time though...
try maroone on 8th street - carlos was my service rep and he fixed it for me...

Interesting...my S has been doing the same thing for a couple of months, same noise, same location. It was suggested to check the CV joints, but the boots looks good. It was also suggested to check the hub bearings, so I guess that's next...don't want to get into tranny problems

yeah, i thought it was the CV joints at first as well, because that happened to my other car, same clicking noise, but it couldn't have been, my car only has 10k miles.
Anyway, i just got my car back, they didn't do anythiing because they couldn't "duplicate" the noise, i guess i'll have to come back when it "more" obvious" or just take it to the other dealer some other day...
