after market catalytic converter illegal in NC?

it says for off-road applications only.
In North Carolina and most other states it is illegal to tamper/ modify the stock cats or replace them w/ aftermarket cats or test pipes.
Most inspection stations wont even be able to tell it the cats are aftermarket or stock. So i wouldnt worry about it, but if they try to give you any trouble just slip them a $10 and tell them to forget about it.
about the tint, just find someplace that does inspections where u know someone or is out in the country where they dont really care. But they charge you $10 no matter what if you have tint.

My dealership installed my NISMO Headers/ RT Cats / and NISMO cat back exhaust system with no hassles and they inspect my car and i havnt failed inspection yet .....then again i bought my Z from them...(Michael Jordan Nissan)...i also have a 30%tint all around and i have had no problems with that either
