I didn't want to put this in with that last post, but today is the 1 year for the VT shooting. My roommate's from VA and his sister's friend was killed on campus that day. Take a moment today and think about how precious life is!

So the car is over at jeremy's...

First bad news of the day:

The Gruppe S Stainless steel brake lines are well garbage I guess; they installed them and went to pressure check them and they started leaking. Not going to use the clutch line either because he said I dont even need it. So Im already an extra $150 in the hole for labor on those.. just hoping Gruppe S will help me out on this.

Hopefully the UTEC works and the car doesnt break. yay!

So Dyno day...

Another disappointing day with the Z

I guess Jeremy stated awhile back he wouldnt tune NA cars anymore b/cuz the tune wont stay...

My baseline dyno was 259whp..

He said any tune he put on it wouldnt stay... the most hes seen NA tuned was 262whp so he said my ECU was strong.. He gave up and didnt charge me. Hes a great dude I feel bad that nothing worked out for the car, me and Jeremy.

what about the unit your using for tuning. jeremy tuned a NA haltech car and had great results. Do the problems lie with UTEC? or would drop tunes be attributed to units like FCON etc. aswell. Because i eventually want to get a NA tune from jeremy but the way i see it . UTEC isnt playing nicley with keeping the tune consistanly. Any input.

I just rear ended a pick up truck yesterday afternoon. The trucks steel rear bumper went through my front bumper like a blade cutting a piece of paper. It even pushed the radiator further inside the engine bay. Of course the CF hood is gone. Even the intake looks like a crushed beer can. Had to get the car towed to my house and right now I'm just waiting for the adjuster to call so I can have the car towed to the shop. I'll post pixs. as soon as I'm in the mood to look at my car again, lol.

Yeah Jeremy said an F-Con or Haltech would be great and work perfect its just the issues with the UTEC and the stock ECU... ECU doesnt play nice with it. He said none the less that the most hp NA tune without cams was 262whp hes done Im at 259whp no tune. He said it also depends on the ability of your own ECU some are smarter than others, like how it constantly checks what your doing and A:F ratios.

What sounded like a good idea was for $1200 + the UTEC he will do a 100 shot of Nitrous with bottle heater tuned and installed. He said you would take most turbo guys and all superchargers b/c how hard it hits you. Sounds like fun. I have 50k miles now so Im worried on strength of engine and clutch... He said if the tune is done right and there is always enough fuel there that I would have nothing to worry about.


Juan that is horrible!! Im soo sorry. Time to bring out the credit card and upgrade! Yay! Im thinking WIDE-BODY with Dry Carbon 8lb Asuka hood.

yea nitrous is hella nice...i may undergo the same route after im done with my NA bolt on suspension phase...but UTEC is def out of the question from now on to many people with the same issue NA.

 

Wish I wouldve known... would have saved jeremy and myself the hassle. Also SS brake lines are only needed if you track... per Jeremy. lol

 

yea, couldnt do SS lines in NYC when it was my DD. lol them winters be harsh lol.


We should all do a HPDE event man ..i heard chin motorsports be offereing events. That way you can test your mod performance to other Zs. Or just work on your wrists waving all the FI Zs passing you lmao.
