Hey so I really need a gym membership and Ive never really paid for one so I feel extremely uninformed. Did some reasearch and membership seems to range from area to area and also from location to location (within same companies).

Does anyone have any recommendations on clubs or pricing? I signed up with LA Fitness (on 436) yesterday but I got till wednesday to cancel it.

436 LAF standard prices were: 199 reg fee, $45/mth.

They offered me 99 reg fee, $40/mnth. I offered to pay 12 months in full, and the best thing I got was after the first year, my yearly renewal is $240 (about $20/mth). Also I get 2 free months in between each 12 month contract.

 

Tell them to **** up a rope, I am paying $39 a month and I paid a $99 start up fee? They have alot of leway from what I understand, you just bit too early. I dont have a yearly renewal either, i just pay the 39 a month and that is it.

Anyways, yea, i didn't need to sign a contract. They offered me the 99 & 40/mnth too but I felt it was REALLY pricey (esp since im used to a free school gym). I only brought up a contract to see if i could save money and that was when they told me i could renew at 20/mnth for doing a yearly contract.

I was just hoping there were better deals out there without sacrificing too much facility quality.

You go to LA fitness too? Might see you there if I decide to stick with them.

I am with La fitness.... 0 down payment and 800 for three years.. It comes out to 21 a month.. The down payment is the biggest scam... Go cancell and they will probably give you back some of your deposit.. Let me know when u go, I need someone to work out with..

Either that or Manny gave me a business card of a sales rep at the LA fitness in ocoee (i think) and maybe I can sign up thru there if i get a better deal.

You go to the one in winter park? That would be great because it is impossible for me to max out by myself. The first time i went, I ended up freaking dropping the weight on my chest then rolling it off my body onto the floor. Horrible.
