Looks like a few of us are heading up to VIR in Danville VA, to watch the Grand AM 350Z's Saturday Oct. 1st. We are working on getting a Z corral and group rate tickets. Let us know if you want to go.

Are you referring to the Daytona Prototype cars? If so, then yes, they will be racing in the Rolex race on Sunday.

Crap, why do these things always hit when I have other plans. I'd be going since it's only a couple hours from Richmond and I missed out on the HPDE due to a family reunion but I'll be in Europe the week before and after.

 

I'm interested in going as well. Although I probably won't have my Z anymore...

I knew you haven't been the happiest with the times, but what will you be going to?

I came to the conclusion that after spending E46 M3 money that I should have more answers than questions with this car. I love it, but the lack of support and probability of stuffing it in a wall (and having a kid) has spurned me into getting a dedicated track car. This was my track car anyway and the next step was gutting it completely, which is stoopid for a new car. I will take my time and either get an E36 M3 or something unique like the Elise(if I fit). Still love the Z33 though!

 

I hope you will still join us at track events instead of joining the BMWCCA cult...

 

Of course! THSCC/TZC is the best run group that I have been with. I like their events more than the BMWCCA or any others.

Just do what a few of us have done and buy First Gen Z's (S30) as the track cars...

BTW, I think there is a line forming for your Z33 stuff..

 

I thought of that, but after looking into it a little, I want something that I could gut and race competitively down the road. After talking w/ Dr. Sideways, he talked me out of an old Z. I would have loved one, my dad still has at least 4 engines sitting in his garage. There aren't too many race parts left, so its not that cost effective if your really looking into racing.

 

The 240Z's are VERY competitive in ITS and EP. I guess it will all depend on what type of racing your going for.
