how long did that garage floor installation take? (is it something they can do in an afternoon?) is the price reasonable?

Takes 2 days for the 3 coats, cost is about 2K.

They put the first coat on, and spray granite chips (the second coat) while the first is still wet, so that they stick.

Then, they come back the second day, vacuum up the excess granite chips, and lay the thrid coat on, which is a clear coat.

On the first day, they also sand down the entire garage floor to clean it. Imagine a big floor buffer with sandpaper abrasive pads.

is the top coat slick if it gets wet? or is there an abrasive/grip in the top coat?

Slicker than concrete, but not too bad. Very easy to clean up, just mop it. Even oil spills and the like are no problem.
