You Have Got to be F'ing Kidding Me!!!
So, I like to go running. And I don't like to be bothered when I'm out running.
On a related note, my religious beliefs are pretty strong, but I keep them to myself. However, I also am pretty libertarian in my political beliefs, including my firm belief in the right to free speech. (Don't worry, these are related to my running) I believe that everyone has the right to preach their religion. However, have some dayum courtesy about when you do so!
So, how are these related? Well, I was out running today, and I here some bicyclists coming up from behind me. I move over to the far right of the running path to let them go by. They pull up next to me, and they have the telltale signs of Mormons on a mission. Short sleeve button down shirt, with a tie, slacks, and a bicycle helmet. They say hello, I say hello back, out of common courtesy.
The they proceed to preach to me on the wonders of Jesus Christ! Here I am, out for a run, proabably on about mile 9 or so, sweat is puring down my face, I'm breathing heavily, and I'm getting preached to! I restrained myself from my first urge to beat the living crap out of these tow, and just growl at them to not bother me while I'm running. They say okay, may JC be with you, and ride off. Not an apology for rudely interrupting me, nothing.
I mean, I have been accosted (and accosted is certainly the word here) by Mormons before, in many different situations, including laying on my back underneath my G installing my sway bars, covered in grease, but this one is most likely the rudest ever.
Ok, I feel a little better after venting. maybe someone who is a Mormon will read this and realize that when you are rude like that, all you are doing is turning people off to your beliefs, rather than persuading them. Oh well.

I had the same situation last weekend.
I'm out in my backyard washing and claybarring the car when these Jehovah's witness's decide to preach to me while the car is sitting in the sun and I'm trying not to get any streaks so I can start putting down the glaze and sealant.
Come on if you see someone working or busy let them do their thing.

I had a guy throw a bible at me just off DU campus. That was pretty fun. They were handing out mini bibles, standing on the corner with a sign that said and i quote "You will burn in hell without the book of christ". I had my headphones on clearly ignoring him and his wife yelling, he tried to push it in my hands, i pushed it back (without force, just a waving it off i dont want it sort of nudge) so he throws it at my arm. Sometimes its a shame since those are the actions that give religion a bad name in some cases. Had they been on DU Campus they would have gotten in a ton of trouble for that since DU takes that stuff real serious. Im on your side Dave, everyone has the right to what they want and free speach, but there is a limit to where that goes too far.
3 Mormon kids live right across from us. They have tried to engage me in a conversation a few times while I was detailing in the garage. So I now do it with the door almost all the way down.
I am deeply respectful of all religions; just not of all practitioners under all conditions.

I guess if I belived bugging some poor sweaty running guy would get me into heaven, I would have done the same. Better than the need to strap a bomb to themselves and taken you out for not "coming over to their beliefs"....
