Default PMI/PMP Udgrades/Changes

Noticed this today surfing PMI's website; http://www.pueblomotorsportspark.com/

This change will negate NHRA’s requirement that the concrete walls be moved into the edge of the straightaway as was originally mandated by June 2009. Martyn Thake of Motorsports Consulting reviewed the track late in the summer and this was one of his recommendations for the track’s improvement. Other suggestions dealt with corner station placement, additional curbs, and the pit-on road. PMP will undertake resurfacing from the exit of turn 9 into turn 10 and moving the dragstrip burnout box further downtrack to minimize varying track surfaces that upset roadrace vehicle suspensions. Other changes will include moving the berm before turn 8 back some distance and installing gravel runoffs at turns 8 and 10. The pit on access will be widened and a merge lane painted to prevent a potential problem with racers accelerating onto the track and those coming down the main straightaway at speed.

Yeah, we are allready talking about 9it on the NASA RM forums. It will definitely slow down turn 10, in turn leading to slower speeds on the front straight. Safer? Probably. Less fun? Definitely, especially for the lower powered cars (Spec-944, I'm talking bought you!)

The resurfacing will be nice, though, I hate thta bumpy surface on turn 10

When do you get back, and when are you moving? We could always go down for an open track day.

As of today, April 11/12. However I'm dropping off the Z than at MAC for the JWT install. While the Z is OOC, Ada & I are going to San Antonio, for about a week, to look at neighborhoods. We've already found a builder & model of home we want built, just need to find where. Than I'll come back for about a week and head back to Kuwait (if I extend my contract). ETA of us moving is late June/July. So depending on if I extend or not depend on if I'll be able to make PMI or not. Also, don't I need to attend another safety course for the '08 season? Any case, if I'm home during a NASA event I'll try to jump in.

Safety course is good for 3 years. So, if things work out, we can hit up PMP on an open track day, test out that new JWT!
