Twisted II might be DEAD.
Ron, I am truly sorry to hear about the Twisted II being wrecked and hope the insurance settlement covers the damage. Like everyone else, I am happy you were not injured. I know how devasted you must feel after all the work and expense you put in on the Twisted II.
I wish you the best and again, I hope you are compensated fully for the repairs.

Ron, I am very sorry to hear your loss. I am glad you are okay though. Rain really sucks and pool of water is everywhere and show up at the most unexpected times. Hope they total your car and let you get a new one. Time for Twisted III.
Ron and Miaplaya, I'm glad you guys are doing ok. Like everyone is saying our cars can be fixed and replaced but people can't. My brother hydroplaned his RSX into the center divider as well. He's ok. I don't think there is a problem with our Z's and wet weather. Even though I'd rather drive my truck in this crazy rain. I think we all need to be just alittle bit more careful for deep puddles in this crazy wet weather. Take care everyone!
No way Ron not your Z that really has got me very disturbed. I can't even think of all the hard work you put in that car. We are losing too many of our cars of our group. I am relieved that you are OK through all this although I wish things like this will stop....
Sorry Ron
Losing Twisted II is a real "Bummer"..
Two way's to go...
Rebuild or Total and move all the specialty parts to a new Chassis.
I know your Z didn't have VDC - but VDC could have given you a
"Different" kind of accident.. on loss of traction of each wheel.. A VDC car whould have tried to put you "Straight" in the original direction of travel.. The Gyroscope and wheel program should cut power and anticipate the direction on the first 360... But since the wheels are still hydroplaning and would be slowing in revolutions, the VDC might drop you 180 out of the original path. You would then be going backwards, looking at on coming lights...
Maybe - TCS and no VDC is a prefered set-up.
Sorry Again...
Let us know what we can help you with.. My garage roof has a
great number of stock parts... But I know you have all those...Stored..

Twisted II was a base model No VDC I was off the gas in a flat spin. Doubt anything could of helped ,the wheels were on a sheet of greased Glass. I've been in 3 spinouts in my 40 years of driving Trust me I was just along for the ride Accually hit the wall twice When the car stopped I was faceing on coming traffic. Luckilly I was against the center divider wall with two Tires out on the Passenger side gone in a emergency lane. CHP took 45 mins to answer the damn Yellow call box in the pouring rain.
Wet and Pissy not an ideal combo...
I don't think it's really the car, it's tire treads.
Everyone make sure you're tires have some good deep treads before even attempting driving in the rain. Check wet traction ratings for the tires you use. Street tires shouldn't just be judged by dry performance. So far my T1S has shown excellent performance in the rains (drove over 120 miles this weekend around LA and OC in the rain). My Kumho MX on my track wheels didn't feel as safe.

I don't think the OEM Potenzas are really that great for this rainy weather, in addition, tirerack only gave the Potenzas a fair rating for wet traction.
I'm almost convinced that I should get Michellan Sports A/S, but still taking my chances with the Potenzas. I want to get a good 10,000 miles on my Potenzas first.
.
In any case, good idea to check those tires for threads!

So sorry ron, but your OK..we can lose your car but you are a special person in our group, i also came very close to getting hit yesterday...this rain sucks...see you and nora and twisted 1 at the next meet...tom
