Angry Pothole=Bent Rim=PISSED

I smacked a pothole last night in Fountain Valley that bent one of my front rims. Does anyone know if bent lips on Volks can be fixed, or do I need to buy a new rim?.....grrrr

I don't think shops know if it can be fixed until they look at it. It is possible to fix bent rims (in some cases) if that's what you're asking.

I thought so too! Damn, sorry to hear about that man. Stupid SoCal potholes! I know if I ever get rims I'm gonna have binoculars on looking for potholes at all times.

Holy crap that sucks!!! You may be able to get it repaired, depends how badly damaged it is. Do you have a pic? My wife had a rim repaired a couple years ago when she hit a pothole the size of a swimming pool.

Try this place. I had my Racing Hart C2s fixed here for my accord about a year ago. After the job was finished and I mounted the rim back on my car, I couldn't tell when rim was bent.

Tru Wheel in North Hollywood. However, one member here actually had a bad experience there. I've always had good experiences with them

Default Update

Ater inspecting my rim in some sunlight, I saw that the lip was bowed out about 1/2 inch or so, and there was also a small (3mm oval) chunk taken out of the corner of my lip...strange. So, I took it over to one of my parents' neibors house to see if we could bang it straight. We worked on it for about 30-40 min with a rubber mallet, a 10lb sledge and a 2x2 piece of pine. You know what, we actually got it straight!! Its straight enough that afterwards Jon (zman23) had to ask me, "which rim is it?"
I had Jon pace me in his Z while looking at the rim and he says that it rolls true. Now I just have to find a place to fix the gouge in it.
