Default Lookin' to buy a base model, but where?

My gf and I decided that all we want is the 280hp engine so we are opting for the base model 350Z. We went to two dealers yesterday and the best "deal" we found was a base model in black with some sort of aerodynamics package that we didn't care for for about 28000 out the door. I have a feeling I definitely can go lower.

Salesmen being salesmen, one was pushing for the stability control system in the enthusiast model. Does this system make that much of a difference?

We will basically commute in this car and maybe a "spirited" run through the local canyons once every month or two.

Any feedback is appreciated, and thanks in advance.
