Default Foothill Nissan Service Dept (La Cresenta)

I thought I would share this story with the board here seeing as some may concider purchasing a vehicle at some point and/or have service done on your vehicle. You will need to choose a dealership........

So last friday I take my vehicle in for its oil change. Nothing out of the normal I just take it to Foothill Nissan because thats #1 where I bought the car #2 they change the oil for free. So it is in the closing hours of thier day and I finish up with the service writter and I see the service tech jump in my car (no floor or seat mats used) and then pull around the corner infront of the parts department to grab the oil filter. The only reason I saw what happened next was because I am so paranoid about my car, that and I just got a body kit put on so I wanted to make sure they had no problem getting it on the lift. So im standing there and I watch a part's employee step out of the parts department with the filter. Then I saw him toss the filter at my vehicle to the tech who was only one foot out of my vehicle. Now he tossed this thing pretty fricken hard because this oil filter caught the tech clean in the face. I mean clean. I watched at this point as the tech stepped away from my car and started bleeding everywhere. The parts guy then comes over and they get in a head to head like he was asking if he was ok.....Im fairly sure this guy needed stiches. Now the parts guy looks up and sees me standing there watch this all and he heads back inside. The tech still bleeding pulls a shop rag out of his pocket covers the wound and gets back in my car and drives it back to the bays. Then I see the Service Manager walk back to talk to the tech, I see another tech actually handle the oil change start to finish then pull my car up to the customer recieving area where I was standing. The Service Manager at this point calls me in to get my keys and sign my paper work. I thought this would be the chance to ask if he was ok.........He was like "Yeah hes fine what happened". I told him about the game of catch the filter and the managers responce........"$hit that must of hurt". Grabbing my keys I left feeling I bought my car from the wrong dealership. Thats my story.

Change your own oil.

Seriously, especially since you're paranoid about how your car is treated. I don't trust any dealership service depts. Especially as of recently. Get a few $20 jugs of Mobil1 from wallmart, some rhino ramps, and a box of oil filters and it'll take you about 30 minutes each time once you get it down.

Peace of mind is worth the 30 minutes every 3-4k miles.

I tried getting my Z up my old set of ramps and no-go! The stock chin spoiler catches before the wheels start going up the ramps

I'll let the dealer do the 3000 mile free service and then the required ones but I'll do my own changes thanks.

FIX: Get yourself a long 2x4 and place it in between the ramp and your front wheels. Clears my veilside v1 front lip just fine with rhino ramps.
