Default Apartment in/near Studio City?

Hoping to move within the next 2-3 weeks and just looking for recommendations or suggestions for complexes in the area along the 101/134 from encino to burbank. I figure there may be some of you that have lived in the area or have friends in apartments in the area and could possibly steer me to (or away) from some locations.

So far i've looked up listings on rent.com and apartments.com but it's quite limited when I plug in my requirements (1+1, garage parking). Any other listing sites worth looking at?

Thanks for any help!

Hey what's up Partrick. I found that the best way to find an apartment is to drive around the area that you are looking at and check things out your self when you have time. A lot of apartment and dont advertise online or in newpapers. Plus it's never what they make it out to be. Good luck. Hope you find what you're looking for...

I've been using WestsideRentals.com in my search for a new place in the Marina/South Bay area (they also cover the Valley/Burbank/Glendale area). Lots of listings, but so far nothing that meets my requirements (2 car garage, W/D hookups, 2 bedrooms) at a reasonable price.

I live in Studio City at the Archstone Studio Colony. It's a great location, pool, basketball/raquet court, bbq area, gated, garage, great shaped appartments...

I love it there, however it's very expensive.
You should check it out though

Tomcat, archstone does look good. You're right, expensive if you throw in utilities on top of their prices! I'll have to check it out

Thanks to all of you for the suggestions. Marked down some spots off the websites and will be visiting them and their surrounding properties Saturday.

Hey Patrick...
Before I read Dozers post, I was about to say to just drive around the area. Thats how I found my place here in Toluca Lake/ Studio City. Not too shabby eh.

Update... dropping off my security deposit today for this place:

What ultimately sold me is they have washers & dryers IN THE UNIT! No laundry room visits!

Thanks for the help.

I spent 3 months in LA on for work and lived right at the corner of ventura and laurel canyon blvd... I can't remember the name of the apartment - its on laurel canyon right behind that strip mall with the Trader Joe's.

I have a dog and its the only place my company could put me up. The apartments were dumpy and the weight room was a joke... along with the pool/jacuzzi that was filthy. Don't stay there.

Good luck.

If there's ever a good time to warrant the use of the acronym ASAP, this response would be it. Just holding for the bare essentials to be moved in: Beer, couch, bed, plasma, fridge (in order of priority)

I think sometime mid-august i'll host one of our thursday 818 meets.

Sup Robert! Yeah, but i'll still be visiting Northridge quite a bit for school (csun) and using my parents garage for working on the car (oil changes, etc.).

Thanks for the thought -- but I don't really even have much to move anyway. Hopefully you'll be back in town for the small gtg i'll be setting up.
