So is this a "run" or is it more of a cruise?

It's a run. A careful run. The canyons are crawling with CHP and we are NOT going to do anything stupid. That doesn't mean we can't have a little spirited fun.

I'm all for a safe run, but do you think it's a good idea to post the roads we'll be taking on this thread?

Maybe just posting the meeting spot would be better.

I'm not worried about posting the route. We shouldn't be going so fast that even if CHP or LAPD were monitoring this thread and show up, we're not doing anything worth a ticket. But, to make sure everyone is comfortable, I'll go over the route in detail when we get together.

Sorry my friends, scratch me off the list... A girl friend of mine got me side line tickets to Sundays Chargers game for my B-day. I'll have to see y'all at the Hooters meet. Have fun and be safe.

The Run

Directions

We're going to start by meeting at the shopping center about one mile south of Pepperdine University. There is a supermarket with plenty of parking. I will try to get the precise address. From there we will travel west and make a right on Latigo Canyon and go up the green highlighted road:

At the end of Latigo, we head north and make a right on Kanan Dume and then head east by turning left on Mulholland Highway. After traveling east, we make a right onto Yerba Buena. At the end of Yerba Buena, we return to PCH.

From here, we have the option of stopping at Neptune's Net or heading further south to Dukes.

Comments

1. Most of you have been on these runs before so you know safety is the first and foremost concern. Do not drive beyond you or your Z's limits. If you want to go a little faster, you're up front. If you want to take it easy, stay in the rear.

2. Keep enough distance between you and the car in front of you.

3. Do not exceed the speed limit on Mulholland Highway. There are simply too many cops on that stretch of road to bother going faster than posted speed limits.

4. The meet time is 9:00 a.m. with a departure time of 9:30 a.m.

5. My cell is available by PM.

6. I am not an event coordinator and anyone attending this run does so at his or her own risk and assumes the liability for any personal injury or property damage.

7. Gas up in advance of attendance. Check your tires for pressure and wear.

8. Have fun.

I had a little mishap in the Z and am disappointed that I won't be able to make it.

Is this a Z only meet?

Also there is no right turn from mulholland to yerba buena. I forget the name of the street, but you make a right turn on that street and it becomes yerba buena.

It is open to all makes and models. And, I'll have to think of it or look it up but there is a connect from Mulholland to Yerba Buena. It's a fork in the road. If anyone remembers the name or if anyone remembers the address for the shopping mall, please post it.

Sorry to step out you guys, but as some of you may know I have had a silver bumper on my car for awhile and I am finally getting my Vertex put on, so I wont be making it to this run. You guys will have to check it out at another meet.

I don't think it's a good idea to post routes or roads on the internet, but the it's a right turn on Little Sycamore Cyn.

I'd like to join, but I'd feel a bit weird driving in a four door sedan. It is a sport sedan and handles well for it's size, but still. Although, I bet I'd surprise some you guys by hauling as$ up latigo. The Z is definately better suited for going down yerba buena though.

Sounds like a fun run, but I'm previously committed to the Monterey Historics this weekend. Enjoy and be safe!
